diePhone 4... a bad apple?

Dear readers,

I may not be cheap, but I sure am easy when it comes to Apple innovations.  Their shit just rocks, at least in my opinion.  I have never been overly skeptical about their durable and value-oriented products, however, the recent buzz surrounding faulty signals of the iPhone 4 really makes my ass itch.

One of a billion of reasons why I love being Canadian, aside from our multicoloured money and multicultural cities, is that many countries tend to flake out on us when it comes to release dates for products and services in the gay white north.  That's totally fine with me.  I like to think of myself as an innovator or at latest, an early adopter.  I jump on the bandwagon of brands I trust.  Had the iPhone 4 released in Canada at the same time as the American launch, I'd be pissing chards of glass right now.

Here's the deal: if you hold the iPhone 4 in the bottom left corner, the signal strength plummets not by one or two, but ALL bars!  After thousands of complaints and consumer reports, Apple claims the drop in signal is a result of a miscalculation by the installed software.  This PR release comes after my dream sugar daddy Steve Jobs said, "just don't hold it that way".

While there are a couple solutions to the manner (you can put some sexy duct tape over the corner and voila!), these solutions have become irrelevant to me.  We are expecting the Canadian launch of iPhone 4 in late July, and while I was hyperventilating from overexcitement, I had to zone in deep inside myself and say, "Ty, relax, there's a fix coming.  There is a fix coming, do not buy iPhone 4 yet".

I'm a bit disappointed with Apple's response to the issue.  It will catch up with them and eventually cause a massive recall... or something to that effect.  At any rate, that would be the right thing to do.

I can't wait to get my iPad!

Text, with love,
Ty.
